A Word About Junk Mail
How do I reduce the amount of junk e-mail I receive?
At times, a few of our customers have been hit hard by Spam. A lot of them do not know how use the Junk Mail filter in Outlook to properly manage the filter and manually cut down on the amount of Spam they receive.
- Click on “Tools” at the top of the Outlook client, and then choose “Options.”
- Choose “Junk E-mail,” which is found in the “E-mail” section of the “Preferences” tab.
- In the “Options” tab you can set the filtering level for the client.
- No Protection – Filter is off.
- Low – This setting is for people that do not experience a lot of Spam and only want to filter obvious Junk Mail.
- High – This setting is for people who experience large amounts of Spam. Be warned that “good” mail can potentially get caught by this filter and you should check every once in a while to make sure it isn’t.
- Safe Lists Only – Clients will only receive e-mail from a Safe Sender’s List. All other e-mail will be filtered and treated as Junk Mail.
